I’m delighted to announce that I have been awarded a National Lottery Project Grant by the Arts Council England for my proposal of ‘Bringing Art To Dartford’. I’ll be making a bold new body of work which will further push the boundaries of my practice; focused on the empowerment of the marginalised, whilst exploring themes of identity, race & masculinity within portraiture.
I’ll be posting fortnightly blog posts providing an insight into my process of making work, this will hopefully help to contextualise the artwork apropos to the socio political issues addressed within the works. The culmination of the project will be my first solo exhibition held in Dartford in early summer 2021, bringing contemporary portraiture to a town devoid of any presence of modern or fine art. I want to bring something new and exciting to Dartford by exhibiting artwork physically made in Dartford.
